Painting week: Villa Porta Colmegna

What you can expect

Our painting trip takes us to the beautiful Lake Maggiore. Villa Porta is located right on the lake, nestled among lush vegetation and surrounded by an impressive mountain backdrop.

This unique setting provides the ideal backdrop for creative painting sessions and relaxing moments. Let the beauty of Lake Maggiore inspire you, savor the Italian way of life, and find plenty of time between painting and leisure activities to unwind and enjoy the moment.

Painting Class In this painting class, we’ll be working exclusively with acrylic paints on canvas. There’s no set theme; each participant is free to paint whatever their heart desires. I’ll introduce you to a variety of techniques, including my own “Pour Art” technique—an evolution of the pouring technique that produces fascinating effects. Whether you’re interested in realistic depictions or abstract art, I’ll help you bring your ideas to life. My course is designed for both beginners and advanced students; I meet each participant where they are and encourage individual growth.

Schedule You can look forward to a total of 20 hours of painting together.

On the day of arrival, we’ll meet in the early evening for an aperitif (there will be no painting that day).
On the following days, we’ll paint from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
On the last day, we’ll clean up together after painting. In the evening, we’ll meet again for dinner at the hotel and bring the painting week to a leisurely close.
On Saturday, after breakfast, everyone will head home at their own leisure.

Outside of our group meals, you’re free to do as you please. Throughout the entire painting week, you can return to the painting area at any time and continue working on your paintings on your own.

You can enjoy your free time to the fullest at Lake Maggiore—whether you’re relaxing on your own or with others in the group. Spend a few hours on the sunbathing lawn with direct access to the lake, explore the surrounding area, or take a trip to Luino or Colmegna and soak up the Italian way of life. A visit to the famous market in Luino is also part of our week.

In the evening, we enjoy Italian cuisine—for example, by having pizza in Luino or Colmegna, or relaxing in the hotel’s excellent restaurant.
