Painting Trips/Painting Week at Cascina Massapé

Painting Trip: A Week of Painting at Cascina Massapé

What you can expect

Our painting trip takes us to the beautiful Langhe wine region in the heart of Piedmont. Nestled among rolling hills and sprawling vineyards lies Cascina Massapé, a lovingly renovated, approximately 500-year-old estate with a breathtaking view of the Italian countryside.

During our painting week, we have exclusive use of the entire property. The cozy rooms, the spacious courtyard, the beautiful garden, and the infinity pool overlooking the vineyards provide the perfect setting for creative painting sessions and relaxing moments.

Here, we enjoy the Italian way of life in a particularly intimate atmosphere—with plenty of time for painting, sharing meals, wonderful encounters, and, of course, relaxing.

Painting Class In this painting class, we’ll be working exclusively with acrylic paints on canvas. There’s no set theme; each participant is free to paint whatever their heart desires. I’ll introduce you to a variety of techniques, including my own “Pour Art” technique—an evolution of the pouring technique that produces fascinating effects. Whether you’re interested in realistic depictions or abstract art, I’ll help you bring your ideas to life. My course is designed for both beginners and advanced students; I meet each participant where they are and encourage individual growth.

Schedule You can look forward to a total of 20 hours of painting together.

On the day of arrival, we’ll meet in the early evening for an aperitif (there will be no painting).
On the following days, we’ll paint from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
On Saturday, after painting, we’ll clean up together and then wrap up the painting week in a relaxed atmosphere.
On Sunday, after breakfast, everyone will head home at their own leisure.

Outside of our group meals, you’re free to do as you please. Throughout the entire painting week, you can return to the painting area at any time and continue working on your paintings on your own.

You can enjoy your free time in Piedmont to the fullest—whether you’re relaxing on your own or with others from our painting group. Soak up the sun by the infinity pool with a stunning view of the vineyards, relax in the garden, or explore the beautiful surroundings.

The Langhe region is known for its picturesque villages, excellent wines, and distinctive cuisine. A trip to the surrounding towns, a stroll through the vineyards, or a visit to one of the cozy trattorias are all wonderful options.

Sharing meals is also part of our painting week. We start the day with a leisurely breakfast. On two days, we enjoy a light lunch, and in the afternoons, small snacks such as cake, fruit, or cookies are available.

On two evenings, we’ll dine together right on the estate. On the other evenings, we’ll explore Italian cuisine at nearby restaurants—in a relaxed way, just as the mood strikes us.
