What you can expect
The Monastero Arx Vivendi is located in Arco, just a 10-minute drive from Lake Garda. The former monastery is now home to 40 stylishly designed rooms and suites. We are warmly welcomed by a young host family who look after their guests with passion and warmth. A look behind the historic walls reveals an atmosphere that tells stories without the need for words. In this very special ambience, guests have all the time in the world to forget about time. So, get out of your everyday life and into the monastery - a place that offers peace, inspiration and relaxation!
The painting course in the old nunnery offers you a unique opportunity to develop your artistic skills. The painting course involves painting exclusively with acrylic paints on canvas. There is no set theme; each participant is free to paint whatever their heart desires. I will introduce you to a variety of techniques, including my own pouring technique, which produces fascinating effects. Whether you are interested in realistic representations or abstract art, I will help you realize your ideas.
The course is aimed at beginners and advanced students alike; I meet each participant where they are at and encourage individual growth.

We spent a wonderfully inspiring time in a picturesque location. Maria responded with great empathy to the individual needs of each participant. With a lot of patience, she helped me to immortalize my personal works of art on the canvas. They were great painting days in the Kaunertal. The feeling of happiness stayed with me for a long time in my everyday working life. Everything was just right: a great and very competent course instructor, a small painting group, enough space to paint, beautiful autumn weather, unique accommodation with a warm and open host and authentic cuisine of a high standard. The painting courses in Maria's studio in Nenzing or on painting days, e.g. near Venice, are characterized by Maria's high level of pedagogical competence and her importance as an artist. Her support and guidance lead to respectable success for all participants. The ambience of the locations, which is characterized by Maria's careful selection, makes even the painting-free hours an experience. The group spirit is incredibly collaborative as a result.

Maria knows how to pick up the most diverse "creative" people where they are, to bring them forward in an unagitated way, and to combine enjoyment and culture in the beautiful surroundings of the location. This year was the first time I, a beginner painter, went on a painting trip to Italy with Maria and it was simply wonderful! She chooses very special places for her courses, takes a lot of time for the participants and is an inspiring and talented teacher. The atmosphere in our course was just great and everyone, from beginners to professionals, was able to develop and take home some great pictures. I will definitely be back again.
Maria can awaken great joy in painting with her ❤️-lichen way. Even less experienced "artists" learn to realize their own works and ideas with more self-confidence and courage.
