Her expressive paintings hang in Vancouver, Saudi Arabia and Amsterdam and depict cranes. "They were commissioned works for an international global company, artistic gifts for guests that might now delight an oil sheikh. A few years ago, I focused on working with companies and hotels," says the painter Maria Gabriel.
Her expressive paintings reflect the character of a house in an atmospheric way. Many of these works captivate with powerful colors and cheerful motifs. "Of course, I coordinate with the customers in detail. But of course I also continue to give courses and organize painting trips. I love introducing people to the world of painting. Art should never provoke, but bring joy," says the Austrian artist. But let's tell the story from the beginning. Even as a little girl, the farmer's daughter from Vorarlberg was enthusiastic about painting, creating remarkable portraits and landscapes at the tender age of seven. Her numerous courses and painting trips later took her to Africa, Italy and the Philippines. Maria Gabriel extended her years of artistic training and travel by training as a qualified multimedia art therapist. Today, the 53-year-old lives and works in the picturesque town of Nenzing: "I need nature, it inspires me." Her beautiful creative workshop was created from building materials that are up to 800 years old. A gem, as if made for the creative painter.
Here in this light-flooded room with its high ceilings, fireplace, an old grand piano, wooden tables and an open kitchen, she draws strength, peace and energy. This is where she passes on her knowledge to interested parties. "Team building is very important to me. In my methodical approach, I combine working with given images and symbols with my own creative painting activities in groups." A pane of glass set into the floor provides a view into a wine cellar. The studio window looks out onto a magical garden. The beautiful studio in Nenzing can be hired for seminars, weddings, events and functions. Maria Gabriel also gives painting courses in her favorite places in Italy or in the Austrian mountains. One of her next painting trips will take her to the Hotel Post in Tyrol's Lechtal valley from November 3 to 7, 2019.
